| Patient condition: Is breathing and has a heart beat, however the patient may be experiencing left or right side hemipeligia ( 1 SIDED PARALYSIS), slurred speech, unequal pupils, aphasia. Equipment needed: Oxygen Mask, Oxygen tank Action: Plug oxygen mask into oxygen tank set liter flow regulator between 10-15 lpm flow position. Watch the oxygen mask for fogging, if it begins to fog up, turn the liter flow up until the mask no longer is fogging. Cautions: This patient may go into cardiac arrest but it is unlikely. |
